ValueCard (Pty) Ltd was established in 2002 to provide innovative products for the insurance and affinity industry.
During May 2002 ValueCard conducted a study were it became evident that insurers do not replace products at the best panel merchants according to price and service offered. This is due to the large administration and management costs associated with sourcing products from panel merchants. The various procurement solutions were evaluated and when no ideal product was found that would work in the short-term insurance industry ValueCard developed TenderSystem. TenderSystem was launched in a Gauteng based pilot project during August 2002.
The pilot project enabled ValueCard to streamline and debug the TenderSystem and was implemented commercially in May 2003. Since then the TenderSystem has become the de facto insurance replacement solution.
